The mission and vision for St. Clair County Schools
“Every child in America deserves a safe and healthy school environment, and it’s our job as educators, parents and community members to ensure that happens,” U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said. “The Safe Schools/Healthy Students grants will provide students with access to services and programs that promote healthy development, personally and academically.”

*OES participates in theToo Good for Drugs/Too Good for Violence program. It is a K-12 prevention education curricula that teaches kids that they are indeed too good for drugs and violence. These programs effectively build protective factors that all kids need both in the classroom and beyond. Too Good for Drugs specifically teaches kids how to make good decisions in the context of goals, outcomes, and consequences.

Odenville Elementary, Odenville Intermediate, Odenville Middle, and St. Clair County High School were awarded the Safe Schools Grant.
The grant will foster the development of a communitywide approach to creating safe and drug-free schools and promoting healthy childhood development. Programs are intended to prevent violence and the illegal use of drugs and to promote safety and discipline.
