The Odenville Elementary Library strives to ensure that students are efficient and effective users of ideas and information. The goal of the library/media program is to promote the enjoyment of literature and reading, provide access to all forms of information, and assist teachers and students in information retrieval. Students are always welcome to visit the library with their teacher's permission to check out a new book or find needed information.

  • Students are allowed to check out books for a two-week period.
  • Students with an overdue book may not check out additional books.
  • Overdue notices are sent home with students.
  • Students are expected to pay for damaged and lost books.
  • If a damaged book can be repaired, the fine will be dependent upon the extent of the damage.
  • If a book is lost or damaged beyond repair, the student will be charged for the cost of the book.
  • Students who owe for a damaged or lost book will not be allowed to check books out of the library.
My name is Pam Browning
I am Library Media Specialist and Technology Coordinator.
I LOVE TO READ BOOKS!
I have a  B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.S. in Library Media.
I have been in Education 26 years and I love to see children enjoy a book. Children who are read to, who read with others, and who read independently will become readers who are able to use and enjoy ideas and information. My favorite children's book is Snowflake Bentley by Jacqueline Briggs Martin.
Accelerated Reader (AR) is used by Odenville Elementary as one way to assess and promote reading. Please feel free to find these books anywhere - public libraries, bookstores, bookshelves at home, etc. As long as the student has read the entire book by the same author, the test may be taken at OES regardless of where the book is found.
