We all agree that healthy children learn better!
Please remember the role of the school nurse is:
- To attend school emergencies.
- To assess injuries at school such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea, etc...
- To administer medications with proper forms from the physician /parent. The form is online and may be printed out and completed at your convience. Just click this link: Medication Form
School nurses are unable to do the following:
- Attend to injuries that occured at home and/or sporting events
- Diagnose illnesses such strep throat, or rashes
- Diagnose broken bones and/or sprains
We ask that you assist the nurse by doing the following:
- Do not send your child to school with a fever of 100 degrees or above.
- Your child needs to be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school.
- Please do not give your child fever reducing medication then send him/her to school.
- Please do not send your child to school if he/she is vomitting or has diarrhea
- Do not send your child to school with an undiagnosed rash, inflamed eyes, or with and earache or toothache.
