US Army Guard, Don Grantham, parent of OES students, Landon and Don Grantham, graciously donated a new flag to fly at Odenville Elementary School. With the help from Mr. Jay, our school custodian, 2nd graders, Landon Grantham and Jackson Lindsey, practiced proper procedures as they raised the new flag at OES.

January is School Board Member Recognition Month.
We are so thankful to have such caring men and women serving in these positions in St. Clair County. Their job is to establish a vision for the education program, design a structure to achieve that vision, assure schools are accountable to the community and strongly advocate continuous improvement in student learning. While they wear many hats in the workday world, school board members put on a collective hat when they get down to the business of leading their school districts. Board members must pull together as a team toward a common goal — helping students achieve.
This year we would like to show our appreciation by making a donation in their honor to the family of Tanner Hunter. Tanner is a student at Leeds High School who suffered a spinal cord injury during a wrestling match at SCCHS in December. Tanner’s father was a former faculty member in St. Clair County. We know this family has a long road ahead and we want to show our support and love as a community during this difficult time.
OES had “Hat Day” for 2 consecutive Fridays. Every child was asked to bring $1.00 and wear a hat to school. All money will go directly to the Hunter family.
Please join us as we say "Thank You" to our Board Members by trying to reach out and bless Tanner Hunter and his family.
